Inspired by the Love Our Cities movement started in Modesto, California, Love La Mirada began with the support of a dozen local church leaders who met together to consider how they might challenge their congregations to partner with other organizations and residents of La Mirada for the good of our city. Others joined together to form a team to start up an official organization dedicated to helping people discover more about our city, serve together to improve our neighborhoods, and connect with other residents of La Mirada into greater community.

In continuing our mission to serve our great city, Love La Mirada is working on our fifth annual city-wide Day of Service, with projects in parks, schools, and neighborhoods, which will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2020.  This year, we are hosting the event at Splash!   All volunteers are welcome to enjoy the park's facility after lunch until the park closes at 5PM.  The La Mirada City Council, Chamber of Commerce, and many volunteer organizations are excited about this movement — we hope you will join us as well!

May - July 2020 - Love La Mirada partnered with Grocery Outlet, Neighborhood Life Church, Community Presbyterian, and Redeemer Church to deliver over 2200 care packages to seniors and at-risk citizens over a 13 week span.   Thank you so much to our partners and the countless number of volunteers who worked tirelessly to make a difference during the pandemic.

June 2020 - Volunteers from Love La Mirada and Neighborhood Life Church helped an at-risk senior clean up and remove a dead tree. debris and other hazards from his backyard.
