Love La Mirada is STILL ON! While we won't be having a traditional day of service, we are doubling our efforts to match the times!
VOLUNTEER with us every Thursday and Friday to help assemble and deliver care packages for the seniors in our community. We need our residents to come together, as close as is acceptable with social distancing, to keep us going! Please contact us for more information.
We also need donations from the community. No amount is too small. To DONATE, please click on the link above. Please make sure you select DONATE TO LOVE LA MIRADA when making your generous gift.
Additionally, if you personally know someone that can truly benefit from our weekly care packages, please let us know.
Our story is prominently covered in the May 8th issue of the Los Cerritos Community Newpaper. To view the circular in its entirety, please click HERE.
Thanks to the partnerships of the County of Los Angeles, the City of La Mirada, Pastor Dave Newman of Neighborhood Community Church and Pastor Jason Ko of Community Presbyterian Church of La Mirada for making this possible and now we need YOU to make it happen!
ABOUT LOVE LA MIRADA
Inspired by the movement started in Modesto, California, Love La Mirada began with the support of a dozen local church leaders who met together to consider how they might challenge their congregations to partner with other organizations and residents of La Mirada for the good of our city. Others joined together to form a team to start up an official organization dedicated to helping people discover more about our city, serve together to improve our neighborhoods, and connect with other residents of La Mirada into greater community.
In continuing our mission to serve our great city, Love La Mirada is working on our fifth annual city-wide Day of Service, with projects in parks, schools, and neighborhoods, which will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2020. This year, we are hosting the event at Splash! All volunteers are welcome to enjoy the park's facility after lunch until the park closes at 5PM. The La Mirada City Council, Chamber of Commerce, and many volunteer organizations are excited about this movement — we hope you will join us as well!
